Tipping Point fans reeling over Ben Shephard's cheeky 'energy balls' question

Ben Shephard was at the centre of a cheeky joke as he hosted Tipping Point on Monday afternoon.

The 45-year-old star was fronting the ITV game show with a group of hopeful contestants when a rather cheeky question came up.

The latest episode of the popular game show saw Ben ask which British chocolate confectionary was given the nickname “energy balls” when it debuted in the 1930s.

Viewers found the whole thing hilarious, especially as one female contestant passed on the question – which led Ben to ask one of the male hopefuls: “Do you know your energy balls?”

Taking to Twitter, one cheeky fan posted: “Energy balls come on.”

A second person joked: “It is rumoured that Ben has energy balls #tippingpoint,” while a third added: “Who doesn’t like nice energy ball #tippingpoint (sic).”

The answer to the question was revealed as being Maltesers.

The racy moment comes after Good Morning Britain host Ben left his celebrity players cringing after he made a very cheeky “well-hung” innuendo during the Lucky Stars edition over the weekend.

Ben was discussing the position of the coins during Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling’s turn after he failed to knock any coins off the second tier.

Ben said: “Looks good doesn’t it?” before they failed to drop.

He added: “Well, looks can be deceiving,” after watching the failed go, before cheekily adding: “They’re very well-hung on that Tipping Point, but not going to drop.”

Fellow player Angela Rippon looked at him as she said: “Are you sure you want to say that?”

Ben replied: “Don’t know what you mean Angela,” before quickly carrying on with the rest of the game.

Tipping Point airs on weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
