Tom Cruise will blast off to the International Space Station in October 2021, it has been confirmed.
With the help of Elon Musk, the Mission: Impossible actor plans to make a movie onboard the ISS were announced in May.
Cruise will team up with director Doug Liman, 55, on the project.
According to the Space Shuttle Almanac, Tom, 58, will be on board the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule on its scheduled trip in October 2021.
The blockbuster duo will be joined by NASA veteran Michael Lopez-Alegria, who will pilot the trip to the International Space Station.
There is also a spare seat for an as of yet unnamed tourist in the four-person capsule.

In May, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted: “NASA is excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the Space Station!”
He went on: “We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make NASA’s ambitious plans a reality.”
It is thought that Liman has written the script for the project, though little else is known about the daring film.

Christopher McQuarrie, who worked on Mission: Impossible with Tom, is rumoured to be involved in some way though.
This isn’t the first time Tom and Doug have teamed up, as they worked together on the 2014 film Edge of Tomorrow and 2017 release American Made.
And while the space project sounds out of this world – literally – Tom has never been one to shy away from pushing things to the extreme.
Back in 2016, he broke his ankle while jumping from roof to roof on the London set of Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
And for 2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, he hung from the side of a plane as it took off.
Just as dangerous, the action man climbed Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, for 2011’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
However his next project sounds like it will top everything, but with more than a year until it is filmed, there will be a bit of a wait until it’s released.
