There is much anticipation ahead of The Big Night In on BBC One tonight, as a revamped music video for “Is This The Way To Amarillo?” will be unveiled.
Peter Kay and legendary singer Tony Christie delighted with the original video 15 years ago, which saw a whole host of famous faces excitedly walk along to the catchy track.
Tony Christie lifted the lid on what went on during shooting of the original 2005 video, and shared that it wasn’t just the late Ronnie Corbett who suffered a blunder on-set with his now-iconic fall.
He shared: “It all happened really quickly. Peter Kay rang me and said ‘Can you get down her tomorrow?’ and I think I was in York or something, but I got the train down to where they were shooting, and I did my bit in one take.
“I thought it was a rehearsal and I put this suit on that Peter Kay let me borrow – it was his suit – and he’s about three stone heavier than me, so there were bulldog clips all the way down the back.

“And the trousers kept falling down, so I had to have braces to stop them from falling down.”
Tony continued: “After that one take, which I thought was a rehearsal, the directors shouted ‘that’s it!’

“So that was that, and I got the train back home, and then it was released that weekend and it all just went bezerk.”
As well as “Is This The Way To Amarillo?” reaching number one in the charts, Tony’s album at the time also clinched the top spot, and he is hoping the beloved track is similarly as successful this time around.
Tony will be performing the song remotely on This Morning tomorrow.
The Big Night In airs at 7pm on BBC One tonight
