Wayne Lineker looked down in the dumps following the announcement his beloved Linekers bar in Ibiza has closed for the rest of summer due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in Spain.
Majorca and Ibiza’s government has since banned pool parties as part of its latest crackdown to stop the spread of coronavirus
The 58-year-old, who is the younger brother of football icon Gary Lineker, took to Instagram, explaining he has a “broken heart” following the decision to shut the bar in order to adhere to the latest legislation.
It is still unknown if his celebrity haunt Ocean Beach Club faces the same fate.

Posting a photo of himself looking devastated outside Linekers, he began: “The first to fall. As from today Linekers is closed. Covid 1 Linekers 0.
“Due to new Government covid legislation, we are now closed. We may have lost the battle but we will not lose the war. But we’re healthy so still blessed …See you next year.” He added the hashtags “broken heart” and “Ibiza 2021 big”.
Wayne, who kicked off his nightlife empire in 1988, re-open his string of bars and nightclubs on the White Isle last month when the lockdown restrictions were eased.

But with a spike in cases in Spain, holidayers arriving back in Blighty from Ibiza now have to isolate for 14 days following the new guidelines set out by the British Government.
Linekers posted a statement on social media, which read: “Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart that Linekers Ibiza has had to close its doors for the remainder of the 2020 season.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers and staff who have supported us and been amazing for the short period of time we have been open.

“We look forward to welcoming you in the near future with better news and conditions.
“Please stay safe and responsible in these difficult times.”
