Will Young twin's heartbreaking last Instagram post before tragic death aged 41

Will Young’s twin brother Rupert’s heartbreaking final Instagram post was a throwback snap of him alongside his beloved sibling.

He tragically died aged 41 after a lengthy battle with mental health issues, leaving his twin Will devastated.

Rupert posted a final snap on Instagram just four weeks ago, with the heartbreaking throwback snap showing him alongside his twin Will.

The pair looked identical as they sat on a hay bale in the adorable photograph.

One of Rupert’s pals commented on the family picture, which was a copy of a physical photograph, writing: “Amazing what you find in lockdown isn’t it?”

Rupert tragically died after years of battling mental health issues.

He had previously spoken about his struggles with alcohol and depression.

A spokeswoman for the family confirmed Rupert’s death, with sources saying the family has been left devastated.

A friend told The Sun: “Will’s relationship with Rupert had been tough over the years at times, and they had both spoken about the mental health problems which had made it challenging.

“But there were hopes he had turned a corner and they are a very loving family – and utterly devastated by his passing.”

Rupert had previously admitted that Will’s thrust into fame after winning Pop Idol in 2002 affected their relationship.

Will opened up in the past about his brother’s mental health battle.

He revealed that Rupert’s problems became so severe he was forced to “walk away” from him.

Will explained: “It was the family stepping away that actually got him better.

“It’s very tough having a family member who is an addict. But when you’re dealing with that you eventually have to just stop and look after yourself.

“Me, my parents, my older sister, everyone. We all just had to walk away. We had to leave him.”
