AceShowbiz – Owen Wilson is heading to TV to star in Disney’s upcoming “Loki” series.
Tom Hiddleston will reprise his titular character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the Disney+ show, and now the “Wedding Crashers” actor has reportedly been added to the cast.
Details about his role have not been released, but Wilson is already a member of the Disney family thanks to his voice work in the “Cars” film franchise, in which he portrays lead character Lightning McQueen.
Loki will mark Wilson’s first gig as a TV regular, having previously made guest appearances on shows like “Documentary Now!“, “Tales From Radiator Springs“, and “King of the Hill“.
The project is one of several limited series based on MCU characters heading to the Disney streaming service – producers are also developing “Hawkeye” with Jeremy Renner, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and “WandaVision“, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige will serve as executive producer on all TV spin-offs.
