AceShowbiz – Whoopi Goldberg was a no-show on her U.S. daytime talk show “The View” on Tuesday (March 17) after taking a break to visit her doctor.
The 64-year-old, who missed weeks on the daily magazine programme last year (19) as she battled a severe health crisis, told producers she wanted to make sure she was safe to return to the show amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“To be extra careful about her health, Whoopi is consulting with her doctor today,” co-host Sunny Hostin explained. “She wants everyone to know she feels fine and plans on being back here tomorrow.”
“We know that Whoopi had pneumonia, and was not in a good place. So, she just wants to get checked out and make sure that it’s smart for her to be here every day.”

Last week, another of Whoopi’s co-hosts, Joy Behar, announced she is taking time off the show to protect herself from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, “The View” has joined several other U.S. programmes that have stopped filming in front of a live studio audience.
