A Place in the Sun viewers were fuming when a couple found their ideal home in Florida only to be bitterly let down.
In the episode of the Channel 4 show on Tuesday (July 13) that originally aired in 2018, Scarlette Douglas had a budget of £180,000 to find Cecil and Patricia the perfect place.
She lined up five properties for the couple to have a look at and one, in particular, caught their fancy.
The third option, a three-bedroom house for sale in Hammock Lakes in Vero Beach, really won over their hearts and it was immediately obvious it was a serious contender.
“You’re working magic here,” Cecil told Scarlette as he looked around the spacious rooms.
It had a living room, dining room, kitchen, two bathrooms and a two-car garage and was on the market for just over £175,000.
At the end of the show, Patricia and Cecil said it was the one and a delighted Scarlette immediately called the agent to make their offer.
She said: “Hi Gail. Patricia and Cecil would love to go with that offer. Amazing, take care.”
Cecile started laughing even before Scarlette revealed: “It’s yours! That’s it!”
They were clearly relieved and Cecil burst out laughing while Patricia clapped her hands together and said: “Oh my God!”
Scarlette told them: “The stress is over. It’s been a journey hasn’t it?”
They then all had a hug as they celebrated what seemed to be a successful deal and Cecil and Patricia told Scarlette how grateful they were for her help.
As they clinked their glasses it seemed like it was all over, but Scarlette had some bad news.
In the voiceover just before the credits rolled, she revealed the seller of the property had pulled out the next day after accepting the offer.
Viewers expressed their frustration on Twitter with many blasting the owner who pulled out of the deal.
