Katie Price’s ex Alex Reid and his fiancee Nikki Manashe struggled to conceive for many years.
After a successful round of IVF treatment, the devoted couple welcomed their first child together this week – calling their bundle of joy Anastasia Pixie Reid.
They have now spoken out, revealing the hidden and “precious” meaning behind their name choice for their “miracle” daughter.
New mum Nikki revealed that her late mum Anita, who passed away in 2010 at the age of 52, was a driving force for their selection process.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Nikki explained: “It means everything calling her a name close to my mum who passed away.”
She added: “My mum was my everything, losing a mum so young and not having her around, especially huge milestones in life has been unbelievably hard so I had to have my mum involved in the name.”
Their newborn’s name also complements Alex’s mum who loves Greek mythology.
Nikki went on: “Anastasia also has Greek origins and Alex’s full name is Alexander Aristides Reid because his mum loved Greek mythology.
“Anastasia shares the same initials as Alex so it’s super special for us.”
Earlier this week Nikki, 45, said that she and Alex had become parents to a baby girl on Instagram.
The pair, who have been trying for children for some time, both said they “finally feel complete,” with Alex adding: “We finally have a happily ever after as a family.”
After an eight-year fertility battle, Alex and Nikki shared the happy news that she was four weeks pregnant with twins.
Devastation struck in December when they learnt Nikki had heartbreakingly miscarried one of the babies.
Alex said at the time: “Even miracles take a little time.
“We still hope and sometimes against all odds, against all logic, we still hope.”
