Amanda Holden pays tribute to Caroline Flack on first anniversary of her death

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has paid tribute to former Love Island host Caroline Flack on the one year anniversary of her tragic death.

The Heart Breakfast radio presenter, who turns 50 on Tuesday, led the tributes online alongside the likes of Rita Ora, Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling.

She logged into her Instagram account on Monday to post a sweet snap of her and the late Caroline sharing a hug.

The pair posed up a storm for the camera and playfully pouted their lips.

Amanda penned alongside the snap: “I think about this little one a lot, what she would be up to now and how she would be coping in this weird new world that changes every day. She is missed” alongside a rainbow emoji.

The mother of two’s heartfelt social media post was inundated with message from her 1.6 million followers.

She penned at the time: “Utterly devastated to hear of the sudden death of this funny bright beautiful young girl.

“My heart goes out to her family. For Caroline to feel that death was the only way out breaks my heart.

While Amanda didn’t name anyone in particular, she continued: “Anger doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel about her being thrown to the dogs like she was.”

“There are criminal gaps in the differences. I am certain there is more to her story… I know the truth will out.

“May she rest in peace and those responsible for this lack of humanity be brave enough to admit their shame.”

Caroline was found dead on February 15 2020 aged 40, a day after hearing the Crown Prosecution would go ahead with a trial for allegedly attacking her boyfriend Lewis Burton in December 2019.

Flack strongly denied assaulting Mr Burton, and had pleaded not guilty to assault by beating at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on December 23.

Other celebs shared their tributes, as her friend and Love Island co-star Iain Stirling shared a picture of them together, writing: “To my friend Caroline, thinking of you today. Miss you mate x”

His wife and Love Island host Laura Whitmore added: “You’ve got to laugh a little, cry a little, until the clouds roll by a little,” sharing a picture of her with Caroline along with a picture of the quote.
