Ant McPartlin’s wife Lisa Armstrong is not one to keep her opinions to herself after splitting from the beloved presenter in 2018.
The Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist first met Ant in 1994 as he and life-long TV partner Declan Donnelly were reaching new heights as PJ & Duncan following their stint on Byker Grove.
They tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Buckinghamshire and were together for 23 years and married for 12. However the final chapter of their story was far from a happy ending.
After a high-profile £31million divorce following Ant’s stint in rehab for alcohol and prescription drug addiction, there has been much mud-slinging over the years with Lisa often taking to Twitter to vent her fury over the split.
As Ant recently married his long-time personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett, Lisa has thrown some savage swipes at the pair in her bid to find closure on their broken marriage.
Bitter Backlash
Following their divorce, an angry Lisa decided to dump Ant’s old items and memorabilia from their marriage and leave it on the street for members of the public to take.
Pictures showed Lisa left the items outside their former marital home with a sign saying: “Help yourself.”
The haul included his old bathrobe, a pile of board games, Piers Morgan’s book The Insider as well as discarded old Valentine’s cards and their wedding book.
However his Newcastle United shirts went in the skip along with a “Team Ant” foam hand from Saturday Night Takeaway
Breaking Girl Code
When her ex-husband confirmed his new relationship with his personal assistant, Lisa accused Anne-Marie of “breaking girl code”.
Taking to Twitter, Lisa blasted: “To think she was MY friend!” She also engaged in a liking spree approving messages about Anne-Marie’s behaviour telling her not to sign an NDA, and criticised reports that her “freedom of speech” was being taken away from her.
One message like by Lisa said: “The healthy thing to do is separate. The unhealthy thing to do is to start shacking up with your wife’s friend. That’s not ok in any circumstances. Major girl code breach.”
Although Lisa has now moved on and is dating electrician James Green, pals say she has “not forgiven or forgotten how she was treated” by Ant.
Lisa later went on to reveal that she did not know about the romance and had only found out about the new relationship after reading about it in the media.
Social media scorn
Lisa hit the headlines when she took a savage swipe at her ex-husband and his PR team claiming he “doesn’t care who he screws over”.
PR guru Simon Jones paid tribute to Ant and Dec on social media as The Geordie duo made history when they won the NTA for the twentieth year in a row, but fans were stunned to see that Lisa had left a spiteful comment underneath the celebratory post.
Simon captioned a shot of Ant and Dec holding their awards, stating: “20 years! So so proud of my amazing friends Ant and Dec for winning Best TV Presenter at the NTA’s for the 20th year in a row!
“And proud to say I have been with them at the awards every year of those 20 wins. We’ve been on a brilliant journey so far and long may it continue.”
After laying eyes on the post, Lisa posted a savage reply underneath, blasting: “And you don’t care who you screw over in the process. Well done.”
Simon furiously hit back at the make-up artist, telling her to ‘move on’ with her life and stop blaming other people for her mistakes.
Lisa’s outburst came just weeks after Ant tied the knot with his new wife Anne-Marie Corbett.
The 45-year-old also liked a tweet branding Britain’s Got Talent’s sister show Britain’s Got More Talent “way better”.
The tweet said: “Such a shock tbh. Never thought this would happen. BGMT is way better than the main show. I actually find the main show quite boring.”
When news broke that the presenter had found love again, Lisa liked a tweet slamming Ant as “disrespectful”.
While Lisa hasn’t mentioned Ant on her Twitter, she savagely liked several negative comments about the Geordie star during their divorce, including: “Never know what to trust in the press but I’m definitely on her side. Slime ball.” and “I think that Ant should enjoy his time in the jungle before Lisa gets him into the courtroom and wipes the smug smile off his face.”
Wedding day dig
The scorned ex-wife made a subtle dig about her disdain for his new marriage to Anne-Marie Corbett when she liked a tweet posted on the morning of the wedding about the terrible weather that was expecting on their wedding day.
Lisa had liked the tweet after a fan jokingly tagged her in it ahead of Ant’s star-studded nuptials, as a heavy downpour was due in the area where he was due to marry his former personal assistant.
‘@lisaAmakeup Terrible weather in Hampshire today,’ they wrote, which Lisa obviously found amusing.
Ant and Anne-Marie tied the knot at St Michael’s Church in the village of Heckfield in Hampshire and luckily for the newlyweds, the heavy rain wore off just in time for the sun to shine on their special day.
As her ex-husband prepared to walk down the aisle, Lisa went on a romantic staycation in a lavish hotel costing £450 per night, alongside her electrician boyfriend James Green.
