Ashley Cain and Safiyya celebrate Azaylia's life with huge party after funeral

Former footballer and reality TV star Ashley Cian and his partner Safiyya Vorajee threw a huge celebration for the life of their late daughter Azaylia.

The devastated parents held a gathering of family and friends to say their final goodbyes with a huge wake which included, fireworks and stunning balloon and flower displays with a Lion King theme.

Images and videos have been shared from inside the party to show family coming together to celebrate Azaylia’s life.

Azaylia passed away aged just eight months old after battling an aggressive form of leukaemia.

The event, which was held in a huge marquee beautifully decorated with flower arrangements, ended with an amazing fireworks display as Azaylia’s favourite music from Lion King played out.

Hundreds of well-wishers looking to pay their respects to Azaylia were lining the streets of Nuneaton in Warwickshire on Friday morning.

Ashley and Safiyya organised the cortege route so as many mourners as possible had the chance to pay their respects.

The couple named the Lion King-themed funeral ‘Azaylia Day’ and referenced her nickname ‘Likkle Lion’.

The little girl’s coffin was carried in a horse-drawn white carriage with floral tributes, with mourners lining the streets to pay respects to her and her family.

Orange ribbons were tied to railings as the cortege made its way through as mourners applauded Azaylia’s memory.

The couple had been fundraising to try to help save Azaylia’s life with specialist cancer treatment. At the time of her death, the campaign had reached over a staggering £1.5 million.

Part of the campaign saw buildings and famous sites around the world, including Niagara Falls, being lit up in orange in support of Azaylia and to raise awareness of acute myeloid leukaemia.
