Ashley Cain has to 'live haunted by the fact daughter passed away in his arms'

Ex on the Beach star Ashley Cain has shared a heartbreaking message on social media about his daughter Azaylia as he visited her grave.

The former Coventry City footballer, 30, and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee, 33, have been visiting their baby Azaylia’s grave spot since her funeral which took place on May 21.

Taking to Instagram Stories with a powerful message in the darkness on Monday night (31 May), Ashley admitted he will have to “live haunted by the fact my daughter passed away in my arms counting her last breaths”.

Earlier in the day he had previously explained how there “isn’t a day that you don’t feel sad or pain” and said you get “constantly haunted by what’s happened”.

Then as the night continued, he described to his fans about his “life now as a devoted dad to the most beautiful baby a father could wish for” before focusing the camera on the eight-month-old’s grave.

This comes soon after the couple created a beautiful light display at Azaylia’s memorial space, with multi-coloured rainbows and lanterns around the area.

Ashley was fighting back tears as he continued: “When everything in my life felt bad I used to see her face. It made everything better. Now I can never do that again.”

The Ex on the Beach star said he’s forced to live with the loss for the rest of his life, explaining how he will continue to visit her grave and speak to her for hours.

Ashley said that what hurts him the most is that her life was filled with health-related pain.

With tears in his eyes he said: “Even though she didn’t show, I know she was going through pain.

“I’ve got to live haunted by the fact that my daughter passed away in my arms counting her breaths.

The father then posted a passionate message too alongside a photo of the grave which read: “Goodnight God bless to my daughter, my hero and the strongest, most beautiful person I know. You will live in my heart, my soul and my spirit forever!”

Ashley returned to Instagram to reassure his fans that he was doing okay, adding: “I want everyone to know they don’t need to worry about me. My daughter fought so hard for her life that I would never ever give mine up.”

He told his followers he is dedicated to setting up a charity to help other families through struggles like his own.

“If I can make a little bit of a difference that’s what I want to do,” he continued. “I will go to the lengths of every corner of the Earth to do that and to honour my daughter’s name.”

He asked that his followers continue to support him when the charity is set up and told them he will “keep on going” until he has “done all I can do”.

He signed off by thanking his supporters, saying: “God bless you”.

Azaylia tragically passed away at her home last month on 24 April following her battle with leukemia – after the couple announced the heart-breaking news the following day.
