Ashley Cain’s daughter Azaylia was rushed to hospital on Monday evening when her concerned parents realised there was blood in her teardrops.
The eight-month-old is battling terminal leukaemia, with Ashley and his partner Safiyaa doing everything in their power to get her the help she needs.
Describing her daughter’s latest health update, Safiyaa explained the baby was undergoing a blood transfusion in the hospital.
She filmed Ashley, who rose to fame on shows like Ex on the Beach, rocking his daughter, cradling Azaylia against his chest in the hospital ward.
Safiyaa said: “We’ve just gone back into hospital to get Azaylia another platelet transfusion because last night the tears started having blood in them, so we needed more platelets.”
The worried mum then gestured to the intravenous drip, which was facilitating the transfusion, and said: “This is our saviour right now.”
After Ashely and Safiyaa fundraised to get Azaylia specialist treatment in Singapore, over £1.5million was donated to the heartbreaking cause.
The GoFundMe statement read: “Our beautiful daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain was just eight weeks old when we got the heartbreaking news that she had been diagnosed with AML Leukaemia.
“On diagnosis Azaylia had a frighteningly high leukaemia count plus tumours in her spleen, stomach, lungs and kidneys which put her in critical condition and resulted in her being put into intensive care.”
The couple went on to describe Azaylia’s health struggle, which saw her undergo chemotherapy multiple times as well as a marrow transplant.
Sadly, last week the couple were informed the specialists in Singapore were unable to help Azaylia.
With tumours forming across Azaylia’s body and brain, the baby has been given just days to live.
The devastated parents have been documenting Azaylia’s health battle on social media, raising awareness and vowing to donate to parents facing similar heartache.
They said: “We will be donating any extra money to other children and their families in the same situation as us – we pledged to give back to this community from the moment we were thrust into it and that is something we will always honour.”
On Monday, Ashley revealed he was praying for another day with his daughter, saying there is “so much fight in the Likklelion”.
The heartbroken dad added: “Time is passing so quickly. Every second means everything.”
In honour of the family’s ordeal, Brits have united to clap in Azaylia’s honour on Tuesday evening, taking to their doorsteps at 7pm.
Details of the event were shared on the Azaylia Diamond Cain journey to fight Acute myeloid leukaemia Facebook page.
