BBC Breakfast aired a huge show shake-up on Monday morning, as Carol Kirkwood was conspicuously absent from the programme.
The meteorologist tends to give weather updates on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays while Sally Nugent and Dan Walker present from the studio on the red sofa.
She also sometimes pops up later in the week alongside Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt or Jon Kay.
However, Monday saw her replaced by BBC weather presenter Sarah Keith-Lucas.
Sarah has been presenting for BBC Weather since 2008, and usually appears on shows like Countryfile or documentaries like Climate Check and Weather World.
And with the weather in chaos in the aftermath of Storm Arwen and flurries of snow, thankfully Sarah was in her element presenting the weather segment.
But some viewers were still missing Carol, as one posted on Twitter before Sarah first appeared: “No-one presenting the weather in Carol’s absence then?”
Another wailed: “@carolkirkwood The coldest day of the autumn and no Carol to warm us up!”
Carol, meanwhile, hasn’t offered any explanation as to why she was missing from the show.
However, she has been incredibly busy with her rival career – fiction writing.
Earlier this month, Carol took to Twitter to showcase her new book Under A Greek Moon on shelves, calling out a “naughty person” who had a hand in rearranging them.
Clearly in a supermarket, the books had been spread out over two shelves to take up the entirety of the display.
The meteorologist posted: “What naughty person did this?!! It honestly wasn’t me!!!” with a row of cry-laughing emojis.
The novel is Carol’s debut – though so far, her writing career hasn’t impacted her presenting stint.
Though she was left red-faced earlier this month after being challenged about her job knowledge by presenter Naga Munchetty.
While discussing the clicker she uses to change the slides on the programme, Jon quizzed her: “What do you actually call that little thing that you use? It’s just a clicker?”
“A clicker,” Carol responded immediately. “It’s just a clicker, Jon, you’re absolutely right.”
But Naga wasn’t impressed with her response, as she pressed: “Is that its official name, Carol? Or is that your name for it?”
Carol answered in the affirmative, which is when things got a little frosty between the pair as Naga said: “Are you sure?”
Blushing, Carol turned her clicker over in her hand as she blurted: “I’m positive, Naga! I’m just frantically checking it now!”
BBC Breakfast airs from 6am every day on BBC One.
