BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker has revealed he has booked a family holiday in October despite performing in Strictly clashing with it – but he doesn’t think he’ll be on the show “for long”.
The TV presenter admitted he has treated his three children to a family holiday during the October half term despite competing in the hit BBC One dance show.
Last week, the 44-year-old wowed the judges with his impressive dance moves as he performed the Quick Step with his first-time dance partner Nadiya Bychkova.
But the doting dad has explained how he isn’t tempted to cancel his break away because he doesn’t think he will make it that far in the competition.
In a recent interview with the Independent, Dan confessed he has an autumn vacation booked for the entire family which is set to start from the Halloween weekend.
He told the publication: “If by some absolute freak of nature it goes well, I might have to cancel.
“But I don’t see myself being around for that long,” he joked.
This comes after the broadcast journalist confessed he has been “really struggling” with this week’s dance routine online.
Dan took to Twitter on Monday to share his thoughts on how his training has been going so far.
He penned: “Legs are a bit weary. I’ll be honest with you … I am really struggling with this week’s dance.
“Nothing went in yesterday. It was just a sweaty mess. Back at it today with @NadiyaBychkova so hopefully something will click.”
On Instagram he went into a bit more detail about his second routine which he will perform in front of the judges on Saturday.
He added: “It’s incredibly technical and I have to get my body into all sorts of positions it has never been in before.
“It’s amazing how much work goes into making it look like it isn’t much work,” he quipped.
Last week the pair performed their hit dance routine to Everybody Needs Somebody To Love by The Blues Brothers in which they combined the familiar BBC Breakfast set as they boogied on top of the infamous red sofa.
And it’s fair to say everyone loved the lively performance as the couple came fifth on the leaderboard after they scored 24 points from judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.
