Dan Walker couldn’t resist poking fun at his BBC Breakfast co-star Nina Warhurst who struggled to herd sheep during a live segment on the show.
The 44-year-old was full of witty remarks as he watched Nina’s attempt to command a sheep dog to structure the woolly flock.
As Nina barked orders it was clear that her instructions were not being received in the way that she would have liked.
Mocking his peer, Dan jibbed in-jest: “Stick to being a breakfast presenter.”
Feeling a touch embarrassed Nina replied: “I’d like to say it went to plan during rehearsal but it didn’t.”
Back in the studio, Dan and his on-screen partner Louise Minchin found the scenes very amusing.
As they watched on the sheep started to make tracks across the green fields however probably not in the correct order.
Dan joked: “The sheep are moving in all sorts of directions thanks to Nina.”
Earlier on the show, the Countess of Wessex reflected on the loss of the Duke of Edinburgh in an interview with Naga Munchetty.
Sophie explained to the BBC host that Prince Philip’s death had left a “massive hole” in their family.
The 55-year-old emotionally said: “It’s only when you do the normal things you would have done with them and you suddenly realise that they are not there.
“That you start to have an ‘Oh my goodness’ moment.”
Sophie discussed her “shock” of Prince Philip’s death on April 9.
She added: “It’s such a shock but at the same time you know it’s going to happen but when it happens it’s just this massive, massive hole.”
