BBC Breakfast weather presenter Carol Kirkwood joked she’ll “probably get sacked” after hitting back at a producer’s claim on the show today (April 8).
Just before the 58-year-old gave her forecast for the next few days, host Naga Munchetty decided to reveal the output producer’s comment to her.
“We’ve been having this discussion this morning and all morning you’ve been saying there’s ‘lots of weather around, there’s lots to talk about’,” she said.
“Our output producer said today that there can be no weather and I don’t think that’s true – there’s always weather.”
Carol was left visibly shocked, dropping her jaw at the claim before Naga continued: “I don’t think it’s true – I think there’s always weather – but he said there was a phenomenon where there is no weather.”
And the Scottish-born presenter was quick to dismiss the suggestion.
“Well, there’s always weather, there’s always something,” Carol replied.
“It’s going to be dry, it’s going to be wet, it’s going to be sunny.
“So I don’t think he’s right… I’ll probably be sacked for that one.”
The popular BBC morning show often hits the headlines with some rather comical moments.

Yesterday, Dan Walker left viewers in stitches after he was filmed screaming in agony while attempting the Ice Foot 92 challenge.
Co-host Louise Minchin also horrified fans of the show after revealing her unusual condiment choice to pair with a sausage sandwich.
And the presenter jokingly threatened to “take more time off” after Dan’s conversation turned to golf.
