BBC weather girl Carol Kirkwood took a sly dig at her BBC Breakfast co-star Dan Walker after his Strictly exit.
Dan returned to the red sofa on Monday (December 5) for the first time since he getting the boot from the BBC ballroom on Sunday.
When Dan tried to hand over to Carol so that she could begin her weather report and tell viewers what to expect from the day.
However, Carol decided to stop the broadcast so that she could praise Dan on his Strictly success, but that didn’t come without a cheeky dig.
That’s because she decided to tease him about his dancing skills, and how much Dan had improved since his Strictly stint.
Welcoming Carol into the studio via video call, Dan said: “Good morning, Carol, what’s happening out there?”
Carol replied: “Well before I do…. Dan, first of all. Congratulations!”
She then quipped: “You went from a dad dancer to Fred Astaire – we’re so proud of you.”
She added that she was “so proud” of Dan for all he’d achieved in the competition, which Dan thanked her for.
Dan’s colleague Sally Nugent remarked that Carol “always brightens our morning” with her appearances on the show.
It comes after Dan was evicted from Strictly Come Dancing in the quarter-finals of the BBC One show – alongside his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova.
Dan and Nadiya had scored 31 points out of 40 from the judges for their Tango routine to Santa Maria by Gotan Project.
Sadly though, it was their time to leave and they lost the dance-off against TV presenter AJ Odudu and her dance partner Kai Widdrington.
Discussing his exit on BBC Breakfast, Dan said: “I’m not sad that it’s over. I’ll miss not going training with Nadiya today and learning a new dance and getting ready for the semi-final beacuse that’s been the rhythm of my week for the last three months, bizarrely.
“But I’m just happy that it happened in the first place, so that’s the way I’m looking at it.”
Dan’s co-star Sally got a bit emotional during Monday’s show after seeing a montage clip of Dan dancing with Nadiya, and she confessed that her lip had “wobbled”.
Praising Dan, Sally said: “What makes me really proud is you have continued.
“You’ve worked here, you don’t live in London, you’ve got three kids, lots of other demands, three jobs, a dog to walk every day, lots of people to look after….
“And you’ve still managed to fit all of this in which is incredible.”
