Dan Walker has revealed that he turned down a sexy muscle suit for his dance on Strictly over the weekend as he wanted to use “what mama gave him”.
The BBC Breakfast host, who is competing in the hit BBC One dancing show, told his viewers that the Strictly costume team came in one day offering him a muscle suit that resembled a ken doll.
However, the journalist decided to snub the hunky muscle outfit in favour of his natural abs, telling his Strictly designers that “you’ve got to use what mama gave me”.
It comes after Dan took to the Strictly stage on Saturday with his pro partner Nadiya Bychkova as the pair performed the Paso Doble.
Speaking to his co-star Sally Nugent on BBC Breakfast, Dan recalled the behind-the-scenes moment.
He said: “The lovely wardrobe team brought in a muscle suit and said ‘We thought you might want to wear this’.”
Sally gasped in shock, crying out: “Oh Dan!” as Dan burst out laughing.
Newsreader Dan continued: “Which I tried on because you know, I was trying to be nice and friendly.”
The presenter then quipped: “I’m wearing it this morning under the suit if you’re thinking about me bursting through the seems.”
Sally wanted to offer Dan sympathy when she asked him: “Why did they do that to you?”
Dan replied:” Well I don’t know, but I turned it down.”
Sally added:” You don’t need it, do you?”
Dan cheekily said: “I said ‘you’ve got to use what mama gave me’!”
Dan might have rejected the body suit, but he didn’t shy away from a bold new look as he showed off his latest moves in front of the British public.
Along with the armour, Dan also donned some black eyeliner.
Before the show, Dan shared a hilarious mirror selfie which showed the star standing in the mirror whilst wearing the muscly suit.
He penned: “I’ve been asked if I want to wear a muscle suit for tonight’s dance… I declined”.
