BBC presenter Deborah James has provided further insight on her health condition and revealed she now has a “rapidly growing tumour” amid her stage four cancer battle.
Deborah, 39, was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in 2016 but says she has recently experienced flare-ups.
The presenter also said the experimental drugs that she was previously taking no longer work.
In her column for The Sun, the star explained: “My cancer has been bubbling away in the background, and I’ve had flare-ups that have resulted in two major operations in the last six months alone.”

Deborah has since developed a tumour near her liver which has wrapped itself around her bile duct.
“I’ve had weeks of radiotherapy and CyberKnife as well in the last six months. And blood tests have been showing my tumour markers rising, while at the same time my liver function is failing.”
She added: “It’s inoperable and is now causing an obstruction, to the point where my liver is starting to pack it in.”

The host also expressed that her liver is now in a very bad way and she can no longer undergo chemotherapy.
Deborah also gave her fans an update on her health via Instagram.
Captioning her post, the author penned: “To cut a long story short, my drugs have stopped working and my liver is failing.
“But I’ve been given hope. Today I had a stent fitted to my bile duct, in order to hope that my liver can function again And that I can then have more chemo.

“I was transferred via ambulance from the @royalmarsden to St Helier Hospital to have the procedure by a team of awesome doctors, who managed to get it in how they wanted, and now we just need my liver to play ball!”
She finished off by saying: “I can’t actually tell you anything about what happened, because I was given such a wacking dose of sedation, I’m still coming round and recovering and being monitored in hospital.”
Since her cancer diagnosis, Deborah has written two books titled F*** You Cancer: How to Face the Big C, Live Your Life and Still be Yourself and How to Live When You Could Be Dead.
