BBC Only Connect star Victoria Coren Mitchell has revealed her marriage to comedian David Mitchell is thanks to unlikely matchmaker David Baddiel.
The 48-year-old television presenter has been married to her comedian husband since 2012.
David Mitchell, 48, was the star of hit series Peep Show and has featured on shows such as Would I Lie To You?, QI and That Mitchell and Webb Look.
In true comedic style, the married couple have a hilarious background story of how they first met.
They both attended the same film premiere, when David took it upon himself to play cupid.
Victoria revealed: “He specifically said to me ‘There’s David Mitchell over there, I think you should probably marry him, I’ll get the ball rolling by introducing you’.”

She went on to explain that a few hours later she came around the idea and Baddiel’s prediction may just come true.
Victoria and David Mitchell had a brief relationship back in 2007 but rekindled their romance three years later in 2010.
The pair are due to celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary later this year and welcomed their daughter Barbara Elizabeth June Mitchell in 2015.

The broadcaster gushed about her relationship with David in the Telegraph back in 2013 where she admitted that she was lucky to be married to the TV star.
Victoria said: “I mean, he’s a hugely successful television comedian, he could have had a gorgeous 24-year-old skinny wife with a tiny nose and a string bikini, but he chose me! Me!

“I am filled with this bizarre mix of thinking David could have done a lot better than me and feeling we’re so alike and complement each other so wonderfully that we are the ideal match and couldn’t possibly be with anyone else.”
David shared the same pride as his wife and also discussed their marriage in an interview with The Times back in 2018.
He said: “I feel very lucky. If I had thought that [asking her to marry me] would not have seemed mad earlier, I would definitely have done it.
