Benidorm star Asa Elliott has become a supermarket delivery driver after his television work dried up during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The 39-year-old actor appeared in 13 episodes of the hit ITV comedy between 2010 and 2014 as a cabaret singer but he now works as a Asda delivery driver.
Asa has struggled to find work during the global pandemic and has admitted that he doesn’t know when he’ll next be back on television screens.
He told BBC Look North: “We are eternally optimistic people in our industry but when it all locked down in March, we were confident that by pantomime time in September we would be back to work.
“It’s really hit us completely. We still don’t know when we’re going back to work.”
Asa says he’s already been recognised by fans whilst dropping off their goods.

“I’ve only encountered a few Benidorm fans,” he said.
“I delivered to a lady in Hornsea the other day and she was very star struck.”
Asa took to his Twitter account last week to share two selfies of himself taken a year apart.
In one photograph, he’s smiling proudly next to a cruise ship wearing a blue shirt and a navy cap.
While the second snap shows him flashes a grin wearing a hi-vis jacket with his delivery van in the background.
He told one follower that he’s been an Asda delivery driver for six months and joked that he’s hoping to get a promotion to the front of the store by Easter.

Asa’s follower all commended the TV star for continuing to work during the coronavirus crisis.
One fan penned: “Full respect to you mate. Instead of moaning like some people you have got on a new horse knowing it will be temporary.”
Another added: “Some people think the not working or those not able to do what they do are lazing around having the time of their life.
“Early on I was digging gardens, cutting grass and hedges, just lending support to elderly neighbours to talk to too.

A third person posted: “Right there with you. From Cruise Director to stacking shelves, gotta support your family you know?”
While a fourth said: “Nice one Asa, could of been easy for you to just pass the time till bookings pick up again.”
Asa has appeared in various television and stage productions, including the Benidorm Live tour in 2018 and 2019.
Starting off his career in 2002, he debuted in ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes as Bobby Vee, singing The Night Has A Thousand Eyes.
He later featured in the musical, Hello Danny by Jeri Lane Productions in 2007 and has appeared in eight pantomimes.
In August 2014, Asa headlined the UK premiere musical tour of The West End Experience.
He appeared on nationwide US TV screens in PBS’s Doo Wop Generations in February 2018 performing Those Magic Changes alongside Johnny Contardo and The Modern Gentlemen.
