Viagra Boys founder Benjamin Vallé has died at 47 as bandmates “can’t stop crying” over the passing of the lead guitarist.
The band announced the news in a social media post on Wednesday including multiple snaps of Benjamin on and off the stage.
It read: “It brings me great sadness to say that our beloved friend and founding member of Viagra Boys, Benjamin, has passed.
“Benjamin was loving and kind and the sweet memories we have together are countless.”
The Swedish punk rock band was formed in Stockholm in 2015.
The caption continued: “I can’t stop crying while going through pictures of you but also laughing because you were one of the funniest, goofiest, people I had the pleasure of knowing.
“Benjamin or ‘Benis’ as we knew him, spread laughter and happiness wherever he went and I will cherish the memories we have of touring the world together.
“Benjamin, we love you with all of our hearts and Viagra Boys would have been nothing without you.
“This planet just lost one of the good ones.
“I hope you’re somewhere up in space telling bad jokes to an alien.”
The statement ended: “Goodnight my sweet boy. I’ll love you forever.
“Raise your glasses for Benis. It’s what he’d have wanted.”
Benjamin’s cause of death has currently not been confirmed.
The punk rock band is made up of five other members, Sebastian Murphy, Oskar Carls, Henrik Höckert, Tor Sjödén and Elias Jungqvist.
Writing in Swedish, Sebastian took to his personal Instagram page to pay his respects to his late band member and included two images of the band.
He penned: “Rest in peace my beloved beloved Benjamin. I will love you forever wonderful man. See you in the cosmos.”
Viagra Boys released their debut album Street Worms in 2018.
Earlier this year, the Swedish band released an album called Welfare Jazz.
Fans were quick to comment on the sad social media news.
One commented: “Nooooo we love you so much f**k.”
Another said: “From one extraterrestrial to another R.I.P Benis, Big hugs to family and Viagra Boys my heart is with you all.”
A third added: “Fly on…. Rest in Power x.”
