BGT's Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell surprise Harmonie-Rose with Pride of Britain Award

With her two favourite TV shows as Britain’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer, Harmonie-Rose was utterly gobsmacked when Carol Vorderman told her three celebs would be joining her.

Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell joined from BGT, while Joel Dommett of The Masked Singer also appeared on stage with her.

Harmonie-Rose, who attended The Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards in partnership with TSB on Saturday, was thrilled when she found out the stars were alongside her.

As she stood on stage in a sweet gold sparkly dress, Harmonie-Rose was joined by Carol Vorderman who said: “I know two of your favourite TV shows are Masked Singer and Britain’s Got Talent.

“So, from Masked Singer we have Joel Dommett, and from Britain’s Got Talent we have Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell!”

Harmonie-Rose was visibly shocked and excited as the trio walked out and Simon handed her the Pride of Britain Award.

She was granted the Child of Courage award for her tremendous strength after she was rushed to hospital in critical condition with meningococcal septicaemia at just 10 months old.

Her legs, arms and the tip of her nose was damaged, leaving surgeons forced to amputate.

Over her life, young Harmonie-Rose has had over 10 operations, but it hasn’t stopped her from raising money for charity.

Harmonie-Rose focused on raising money for charity in March 2020, with over £76,000 raised for Meningitis Now in the first lockdown alone.

She raised the funds by completing six activities doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to do again due to her injuries, including running, singing, drawing, swimming, gymnastics and jumping.

Earlier this year, she scaled a climbing wall 100 times and ran 500m in a bid to raise £20,000 for an accessible playground.

Celebs joined to celebrate Harmonie-Rose and many other unsung heroes as part of the Pride of Britain Awards ceremony on Saturday.

When she was awarded her gong, Simon told her: “This is the most important award in the world and I’m so thrilled you are going to have it.

“I believe your motto is, ‘If you can believe you can…'”, before Harmonie-Rose chirped: “Achieve!”
