Darts superstar Bob Fish has sadly died, aged 72, his relatives have confirmed.
The musician died at his home in Pembrokeshire, with his wife Heather and daughters by his side.
Bob, who found fame in 1976 as vocalist for the group Darts, was born Robert Fish, on June 3, 1949, in Rochford, Essex.
The group were perhaps best known for their single Daddy Cool / The Girl Can’t Help It, which reached No6 in the charts following its release in 1977.
His heartbroken family confirmed that he passed away peacefully at his home in Pembrokshire last Sunday, with his closest relatives next to him.
Following the news, tributes have flooded in, with music journalist Malcolm Cawley saying: “He was a wonderful musician, from his time in chart-topping rock ‘n’ roll revivalists Darts, up to his recent career as a roots country performer on the autoharp.”
Malcolm continued: “I last saw him three weeks ago after his 72nd birthday, and he was still singing well, despite his terrible illness.
“He stayed positive right to the end, with the support of his wife and daughters.
“They are three wonderful women and were the loves of his life.”
Malcolm, known as BB Skone, had been friends with Bob for over three decades.
Bob’s devastated family have revealed they will be holding a celebration of his life on Wednesday, September 1, at the Penquoit Centre in Cresswell Quay, Pembrokeshire.
“Please join us to honour the wonderful Bob Fish in the way he would have wanted,” they said.
Darts were one of the most successful groups of the 1970s, boasting 12 hit singles between 1977 and 1980, including 14 gold and platinum discs.
The late musician featured on all of their hit records, occasionally taking lead vocals on some of the electric rock tracks.
Taking to Twitter, fans shared their condolences, with one writing: “So sad to hear of the passing Darts Bob Fish, what a great run of singles they had in the 70s the one band back then that I wanted to go for a pint with.”
“Just heard the sad news that Bob Fish of Darts has passed. Great singer, Darts were such a fantastic live act back in the day. RIP Bob,” added a second.
Before a third penned: “Sad to learn the falsetto lead singer from Darts – Bob Fish passed away at the weekend. What a terrific, energetic group.”
Friends had described Bob as “a truly lovely man and a phenomenal musician,” adding he was a “loving, conscientious, talented, generous, warm-hearted man.”
