Bradley Walsh's life with famous wife – lookalike actor son to showbiz exit plan

Bradley Walsh, 61, has been a staple for TV lovers across the UK for decades.

The Chase presenter has been making leaps and bounds in his career and has featured in many hit TV shows, both as a presenter and an actor.

Most recently, Bradley’s show Breaking Dad was a huge success.

He starred alongside his son, Barney, 23, as the hilarious pair traveled across Europe together.

Bradley has loved working with his son in the past. He even admitted that his son has featured in his career highlights.

The Corrie actor admitted, “My greatest thing, I’ll never forget, I was in pantomime at Milton Keynes and my son Barney played my sidekick. He was like eight.

“I taught him to deliver the lines and – wow – he came on, and he stole that part of the show… I was so proud to be on the stage with my son at the age of eight.”

Barney’s career didn’t stop there. He has since starred in Law and Order, Doctors and King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword.

The father and son duo are due to appear together in The Darling Buds of May reboot, newly titled, The Larkins.

Bradley will be playing Sidney Charles “Pop” Larkin – made famous by David Jason in the original 1990s TV series.

His son Barney is set to play a village policeman.

Bradley’s decision to take on new work may be to do with his large pay-cheques.

The presenter is currently daytime TV’s richest star, with a net worth of over £20 million, according to The Sun.

With over £12.5 million in assets, Bradley earns more than beloved This Morning hosts, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Much of his wealth comes from his production company, Wingit Productions.

Bradley runs the company with his wife, Donna Derby and his son Barney.

Donna and Bradley also run a property company and own a £2.5 million farmhouse in Essex.

Although Bradley and his wife share a lot of money together, the two also have a great relationship.

The former actress and choreographer, Donna, has been married to the TV star for 24 years.

As a choreographer, Donna frequently worked on the prestigious Miss World beauty pageants. Her last Miss World pageant was in 2013.

The blonde bombshell was made famous after appearing as a dancer in Robert Palmer’s music video, Simply Irresistible in 1988.

In 2017, Holly Willoughby posted a clip of herself and Donna dancing to an old 80s hit.

Donna also tried her hand at acting when she was younger.

The star starred in six episodes of The Kenny Everett Television Show in 1987, a BBC One comedy sketch series.

Bradley appears to be just as in love with his wife as when they first met.

The presenter previously said: “I wouldn’t swap my missus for the world. Donna isn’t just beautiful, she’s the most fantastic wife and mother.”

Bradley even credits his wife for some of his acting work.

After playing Danny Baldwin in Coronation Street for two years, Bradley admitted he would not have got the job without his wife.

He said: “She is the one who recognised what it could do for me even though it would mean being apart.”

Although Bradley has had a long and successful career, he has recently spoken out about retiring after two decades in the showbiz industry.

Speaking on Sliding Doors podcast, Bradley said he is almost ready to move on and take a break.

Bradley said: “You know what, in a couple of years time I won’t have to do any of it, I’ll be retired and that’ll be it.”

The presenter, 61, has a packed work schedule so it is no surprise he is looking towards retirement.

In order to film nearly 250 episodes of The Chase, Bradley squashes all of the recording into just three months.

The cheeky-chappy presenter likes to do this so he can pack in as much other work as possible.

In a recent interview, Bradley sounded exhausted by his own schedule: “Out of 365 days, you’d imagine I have loads of time off. But once you’ve got your bedrock of shows set in, that allows you then to go off and do other things.”

He added: “I don’t actually have time off, I have meetings, I have personal appearances I have to make and stuff like that with other things I’ve got going on, so it’s quite tricky to juggle it about.”

Bradley has hosted The Chase for 12 years, including spin-off shows such as Beat the Chasers.

Although he wants to take a step back from TV, the beloved actor and presenter will be missed by many.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
