Britney Spears’ conservatorship firm who manages the singer’s financial affairs has resigned.
Bessemer Trust, the financial management firm, has filed a petition to be removed as co-conservator to the pop star to “respect her wishes” after she gave heartbreaking testimony in court.
They were appointed to manage her financial affairs alongside her dad, Jamie Spears.
The Toxic hitmaker called for her dad to be removed from his role and told a judge in Los Angeles Superior Court she wished for the arrangement to end.
In the bombshell testimony on June 23, the 39-year-old described the conservatorship as “abusive” and claimed that she wasn’t allowed to have children or her contraceptive IUD removed.
The star said she wanted to get married and have another baby.

Bessemer Trust Company of California have filed court documents in LA and asked to be withdrawn from its role, citing “changed circumstances”.
It said Ms Spears’ testimony made it clear she did not consent to the conservatorship, a legal arrangement usually reserved for the very old and infirm.
The court filing states: “As a result of the Conservatee’s testimony at the June 23 hearing, however, Petitioner has become aware that the Conservatee objects to the continuance of her Conservatorship and desires to terminate the Conservatorship.

“Petitioner has heard the Conservatee and respects her wishes.”
The trust asked the court to “approve its resignation on an expedited basis”.
The firm was appointed to the role by the court in November, although the latest legal filing revealed it had been awaiting further paperwork before it could act on behalf of the singer.
It comes following a moving testimony where Britney opened up about her life and career, which has been controlled by other people since a series of mental breakdowns in 2008.

During the emotional 23 minutes, the star said she was “nobody’s slave” and that she wished she could “sue her family”.
She claimed she had been drugged and forced to perform against her will.
Judge Brenda Penny refused a request from the singer to remove Mr Spears from the role of co-conservator on Wednesday.
Following the financial firm leaving its role, her dad Jamie Spears will remain as the sole conservator.

Jodi Montgomery, Britney’s caregiver, is conservator of her person.
She received criticism following the mum-of-two’s court filing this week.
Ms Montgomery’s legal team issued a statement, saying: “Since being appointed in September 2019, Ms Montgomery has tirelessly acted in Britney’s best interests with the approval of her doctors and the oversight of the Court.”
Fans of the star have called for the end of the conservatorship with the FreeBritney movement, with a documentary called Framing Britney Spears being released in February this year.
The next court hearing for the case is expected on July 14.
