The widely-talked about documentary about Britney Spears has smashed Sky’s viewing figures in less than 24 hours after its release.
The doc – titled Framing Britney Spears – gained a lot of recognition worldwide for highlighting aspects of Britney’s current life that many fans were in the dark about.
From her current conservatorship arrangement to the #FreeBritney movement, fans across the globe praised the documentary’s transparency.
More than 220,000 viewers tuned in to watch UK’s premiere of the eye-opening documentary.
The staggering number makes it the highest watched show in the channel’s history.
The powerful doc looked back at Britney’s career so far, with disturbing clips of interviews in which she was objectified by talk show hosts.

She was also probed about her sex life despite her tender age.
The documentary also shined a light on Britney’s conservatorship.
Since 2008, Britney’s father Jamie Spears has been her legal conservator, meaning he has control of her finances as well as the final say on a wide range of her personal life decisions.
Despite being unable to make major life choices, since being placed into the conservatorship, Britney has embarked on two world tours, a Las Vegas residency and released four albums.

Last year, Britney filed an application to the courts to remove Jamie from the position.
However each of her appeals has been denied and Jamie remains as her co-conservator.
For years the Free Britney movement, which argues that she should be allowed to be in charge of her own life without legal constraint, was seen by many as over-eager fans putting two and two together and making six.

But now, the online campaign has taken on a life of its own with a string of celebs including Miley Cyrus, Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow and US host Andy Cohen all backing the campaign.
Last week, Justin Timberlake released a statement in which he apologised to Britney – and Janet Jackson – for how he had behaved in the past.
However some fans felt it was too little too late.
