Carol Vorderman, 60, shared a series of empowering snaps next to her daughter, a scientist and student pilot, Katie King, proving that intelligence and good looks run in the Vorderman family.
In her latest post, Carol expressed how proud she is of her daughter, Katie, 30, as she dedicated a series of Insta snaps to her mini-me who recently finished her PhD.
Kick-starting the photo dump, Carol left fans guessing who’s who as she shared a side-to-side photo of the pair both aged nine to prove how the duo are basically identical.
Even Carol was shocked at how uncanny the resemblance is as she captioned the photo: “The first pic is of me aged nine and Katie at the same age” with the addition of the flushed face emoji.
Katie King, who finished her PhD in nanotechnology, is often not in the spotlight. However, mum, Carol, was sure to make sure she was the center of attention last weekend as the pair celebrated in Cambridge.
A series of pictures included the mother-daughter duo side-by-side in many multiple locations, including them whisking away in a helicopter, rocking summer dresses and a final picture of super smart daughter, Katie, in a Lab Coat next to a NASA sign.
The presenter captioned the post: “I read Engineering here many years ago in only the 3rd year when “boys” colleges also began to take girls in too. 300 Students studying engineering that year, including about 4 girls.”
“Things in education have improved since then. But my college took a chance on me. I I was from a comprehensive school on free school meals in North Wales and a year ahead of my time (I went to uni age 17), the differences between comp schools and private schools were extreme.
“But my college were believers, and still are, in helping kids from poorer backgrounds as long as they’re bright and work hard. I love my college and I give back with joy and thanks.
“This weekend was the first big college dinner for two years, So Katie and I went both wearing our black academic gowns. Made me very happy.
“And made me think about geeky girls and the joys we get from our subjects.”
Going on to describe their similarities, saying: “Both of us are science-based…geek girls…we fly planes and get excited about engines and molecules and are forever curious.”
“Go geek girls…go All girls… you all have value.”
