Caroline Flack documentary trailer sees Love Island star in tears

Caroline Flack’s life and death is set to be explored in detail thanks to a new Channel 4 documentary.

The upcoming TV special will see some of the former Love Island host’s closest friends speak publicly on camera for the first time about her tragic death.

In the first trailer released on Tuesday, Caroline’s mum says: “She was my little girl, it doesn’t actually seem real.”

Meanwhile, chart-topper Olly Murs, who co-hosted X Factor with Caroline for one series, breaks down in tears.

The singer says: “I just wish I could have told her not to do it.

“I never got the opportunity to do that.”

Meanwhile, a harrowing self-shot clip of Caroline is also shown depicting the host in tears.

Lay on her back and talking to the camera, she sobs: “The only person I ever hurt is myself.”

Teasing the documentary, Channel 4 said: “We will hear from those closest to Caroline, delving beyond the headlines to reveal the complex woman behind the public persona, as well as exploring the pressures that fame, mental health, press and social media had on Caroline throughout her life.

“Never before seen footage, childhood home videos and interviews with her mother, Christine, and twin sister, Jody, are all brought together in what promises to be an emotional, intimate and candid documentary.”

An exact date the documentary will air is yet to be confirmed, with the Channel simply adding it is “coming soon”.

Caroline was found dead on February 15 2020 aged 40, a day after hearing the Crown Prosecution would go ahead with a trial for allegedly attacking her boyfriend Lewis Burton in December 2019.

Flack strongly denied assaulting Mr Burton, and had pleaded not guilty to assault by beating at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on December 23.
