Beloved Good Morning Britain host Charlotte Hawkins shared her biggest on air wardrobe blunder at the TRIC Awards last night.
The long awaited Television and Radio Industry Awards were a star filled bash with Dr Hilary Jones, Piers Morgan, Ant and Dec, Kate Garraway and countless soap stars all nominated or in attendance.
Capital Radio’s Roman Kemp hosted the 52nd awards ceremony and won the Radio Programme and Radio personality awards.
Sharing her take on the blunder, Charlotte told the Daily Star: “I have a stylist but during the height of restrictions [is when] that you realise that you are basically useless.
Rather relatably, Charlotte, 46, admitted: “I realised I can’t even dress myself.”
Wearing a stunning white and silver mini dress with ruffles galore, Charlotte and her stylist went all out to show off her legs and welcome the return of in person award shows.
Subtle light blue sequins and sheer panels in places made the dress unique and dazzle on the red carpet.
Charlotte kept things simple with no accessories, and matched the colours of the dress with a light pair of strappy sandals, and bare legs.
She kept her make up simple too with a nude lip and her blonde hair styled in natural waves.
Looking down at the end of the live breakfast show, Charlotte noticed something off, as she said: “As I got to the end of the show and realised I was wearing mismatched shoes so apparently I can’t even dress myself without help.”
As Charlotte presents at rather alarming hours of 6am-9am, with crew and presenters often having to be on set by 4 or 5am.
Charlotte explained how she gets her kip in, by using her child’s bedtime: “I have the same bed time as my 6-year-old. I try to go to bed by 9.”
She has a daughter, Ella Rose, with husband of 13 years, Mark Herbert.
Luckily, there was no early start for Charlotte this morning which allowed her to truly let her hair down at the award show, where GMB scooped the gong for best daytime.
GMB was nominated for the Multichannel News award as well as two other GMB names; as Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan went up against Huw Edwards in the News Presenter category.
The TRIC awards have been running since 1969, recognising talent across media in TV, Radio and online.
