Cheryl has 'album ready' after working with Naughty Boy and Nicola Roberts

Pop sensation Cheryl has been working away in secret, creating new music that will certainly delight her loyal fanbase.

The former Girls Aloud songstress released her last single, Let You, back in 2019 but failed to secure a top 40 hit with the track, while her previous release, Love Made Me Do It, landed in the charts at number 19.

However, two years after taking a step back from the public eye to focus on her young son, Bear, it’s believed that Chez has been grafting away in the recording studio with former bandmate, Nicola Roberts and producer Naughty Boy, who has worked with the likes of Beyoncé.

Addressing their recording sessions, Naughty Boy, whose real name is Shahid Khan, said: “Me, Cheryl and Nicola put a few songs together.

“They’re really incredible songs, but it depends when Cheryl is ready to release it.”

He went on to add: “There’s definitely an album there, you can’t force these things.

“Cheryl is a real artist, she’s not one of those artists you can force.”

The Geordie star, 38, is currently preparing to take to the stage at Birmingham Pride this weekend following her successful appearance at London’s Mighty Hoopla earlier this month.

Her performance will be the first time a member of Girls Aloud has appeared in public since the tragic death of their bandmate, Sarah Harding.

While Cheryl is still grieving the loss of her bandmate of almost 20 years, sources say she will still go ahead with her headline performance.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Cheryl will still headline this weekend as planned, despite her heartbreak.

“She is devastated by Sarah’s passing but also knows the last thing Sarah would have wanted was for her to let down their fans.”

Cheryl performed at Hoopla less than 24 hours before the death of Sarah was announced, sending fans of the singer into a frenzy as she released two new tracks.

While they may have just been remixes of her debut solo single, Fight For This Love, and a fan favourite, Sexy Den A Mutha, this marked her return to the music industry.

It appears that Cheryl has been busy away from performing and making music, recording her own radio show for BBC Sounds titled You, Me & R&B.

During the show, she will reflect on the past four decades of her life and her love for the music genre as well as her love for artists such as Beyoncé and TLC.

Daily Star has approached Cheryl’s representatives for comment.
