Chrissy Teigen said it is ‘difficult’ to come to terms with the fact she will never be pregnant again.
She revealed that she would not be able to carry another baby last year after the tragic loss of her third son, Jack.
The model, 35, is having to accept her new reality, but admits it is still ‘really difficult’.
Speaking to People for her new cover story, Chrissy said: “Coming to terms with not being able to carry again is still really difficult for me because I feel so healthy. I’m like, why?
“But then I think about it as my uterus is just not cooperating with me – and it’s not a failure.”
Chrissy tragically lost her son Jack 20 weeks into her last pregnancy, and shared heartbreaking photographs of her and husband John Legend, 42, in the hospital to her Instagram account.
She told People: “I’ve learned how strong physically and mentally a body can be. I’ve learned how strong I am. This year has been a roller coaster for everybody in the world, including our little family.”
Chrissy wrote in October last year: “We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.
“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.
“I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”
She was taken to hospital in September with excessive bleeding.
Shortly after Jack’s passing, Chrissy told her followers she would not be able to carry a child again, writing: “I love being pregnant, so so much, and I’m sad I never will be again.”
She and husband John share two other children together – Luna, four and Miles, two, both conceived through IVF.
“I just think of it in terms of how blessed I am already, and also there are so many ways to have a child nowadays – whether it’s surrogacy or adoption,” she told People.
She and John chose to memorialise their son Jack by using his ashes to plant a tree at the family’s new home, following a traditional Thai custom.
She explained that she wanted to honour her son’s memory so he could be close to the family ‘all the time’ and ‘grow through the beautiful leaves’.
Chrissy celebrated her newest People cover shoot with an Instagram post of her standing in front of a wall jam-packed with her previous magazine covers.
