Chrissy Teigen is '100 days sober' after quitting alcohol after bullying scandal

Chrissy Teigen celebrated being “100 days sober” after quitting alcohol earlier this year after Twitter bullying scandal.

The mother-of-two quit drinking booze after a social media cyberbullying scandal which included the 35-year-old telling a then-teenage Courtney Stodden to die.

At the time the model was dropped by multiple big-name endorsements and brand deals due to the backlash.

In a recent TV interview on the Today Show speaking to Hoda Kotb, the star announced she had been sober since July and has become a “better person” from doing so.

She said: “I’m actually a hundred days sober today and I’m so excited. I feel so good, I feel very clear-headed.

“Aside from being pregnant, I hadn’t gone more than a day or two [without a drink], ever, since I started drinking at 20 or so. I just never really had that period of time of clear thought.”

Chrissy revealed she couldn’t be “embarrassing” and “the messy one” anymore as her husband John Legend is a respected and loved artist.

She added: “Waking up in the morning and being like, ‘Oh, what did I say?’ That feeling is not worth it. Not to mention the headaches and everything.”

“I feel like I’ve done the work and I just hope these people can forgive and be able to welcome the fact that hopefully they’ve seen me be better.

“Having this period of time, and time to digest it all, and being able to look back, and to realise that there is so much time to grow and to learn and to become more empathetic.

“I look at my kids and what I want their values to be, and how I want them to treat people, and seeing that in myself, that I wasn’t doing that, was I think the hardest part or me — was realising, my goodness, this really had an effect on people.”

Chrissy has two children with husband John, Luna, five and Miles three.

Chrissy reflected: “I think you learn so much in the moments where you do lose so much, you lose it all, your world is kind of turned upside down.”
