Congressman brutally calls Britney Spears' dad a 'd***' in rant outside court

A US congressman told a horde of reporters that Britney Spears’ dad is a “d***” during a rant outside the courthouse.

Matt Gaetz visited Britney Spears’ court case and took a savage swipe at her dad Jamie Spears.

He told the press stationed outside: “There’s a lot that still divides us but one thing we can all agree on is that Jamie Spears is a d***.”

“He should not be making any more decisions regarding his daughter, she is nearly 40 years old.”

The 39-year-old Toxic hitmaker is fighting to have her conservatorship scrapped after it came into force in 2008 following a series of public breakdowns.

The emotional case saw Britney open up about her life over the past 13 years last month, where she claimed her team forced her to use contraception.

She said she was made to work even when ill and likened it to ‘sex trafficking’.

In a dramatic new speech in court on Wednesday, the star told Los Angeles Judge Penny that the conservatorship was “f*****g cruelty”.

She broke down in tears and needed to take a break after sobbing in court over the phone.

She claimed she has “always” been scared of her dad Jamie.

Britney said: “I’ve always been scared of my dad.

“I was scared he would show up drunk.

“I counted and in one week alone, I was abandoned 63 times by all of my family members as I sat in the trailer and watched them leave from the window.”

She continued: “My team took everything from me. They even took my hair vitamins away.

“That’s not abuse, it’s f**king cruel. I still can’t even drink coffee.”

The singer was awarded a legal win when the court ruled a lawyer she chose would be allowed to represent her.

Previously, she was only able to rely on court-approved representatives, but now Mathew S. Rosengart will be acting on her behalf.

The Hollywood lawyer, who has represented A-List stars like Ben Affleck and Steven Spielberg was present in the court hearing today.

Britney is asking for her dad to be removed and is “happy” with co-conservator Jodi Montgomery to remain in her role.

Jodie looks over her personal affairs, including who she can and can’t see, and liaises with her medical team, whereas Jamie has control over financial, estate, and work-related matters.

Mr Gaetz and other House Republicans wrote to the singer earlier this month asking her to testify before Congress following her bombshell revelations.
