A cop who held Tupac Shakur shortly before he died still gets messages saying the star is alive and accusing him of being in a conspiracy.
Chris Carroll says fans think he helped the rapper fake his own drive-by shooting death to “escape” fame or even that he killed him.
The retired officer said: “People contact me from around the world asking about Tupac.
“Some are convinced I played some part in what happened – either in his passing or supposed escape.
“It is just comical to say I killed him.
“It is very difficult for people to believe somebody as iconic was the victim of a simple murder.

“Unfortunately, the most obvious scenario is what happened.”
Chris, 56, was speaking out ahead of the 25th anniversary of Ghetto Gospel star Tupac’s death on Monday (September 13).
The then sergeant was the first officer on the scene after the hip-hop star’s BMW was hit by a volley of bullets fired from a white Cadillac on Las Vegas Boulevard in 1996.

Chris noticed Tupac, 25, was still moving and held him as he lay gravely injured.
The rapper clung to life after the September 7 shooting but died six days later.
Chris added: “When I got to him he was already pretty much passing away.
“He did not officially pass until later, but that was only thanks to the skill of the team who kept his heart beating and then life support machines.”
Tupac’s friend-turned-enemy, fellow rapper the Notorious B.I.G. had been considered a suspect in Tupac’s murder, but he was also shot dead in a drive-by shooting six months later in Los Angeles.
Tupac remains one of the best-selling music artists of all time, selling over 75 million records worldwide.
In 2002, the US rapper was inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame.
