Coronation Street star Sally Carman has revealed that there’s nothing Abi Franklin won’t do following the result of her son’s murder trial.
Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) violently killed Seb Franklin in devastating scenes aired earlier this year.
However, in a shock twist, the evil teen was found not guilty by the members of the jury during Friday’s dramatic episode.
Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), who was also present on the night of the assault, has instead been jailed despite not committing the crime.
As Seb’s mum, Abi is naturally heartbroken by the court verdict and heads out for revenge.
Speaking to Daily Star and other press, actress Sally Carman explained: “There’s no way Abi can leave the verdict like that.
“Abi can’t let it go because the injustice is too much. How did he get away with it?
“She leaves Weatherfield but her return and revenge is quite impactful.”
The award-winning actress went on to tease what fans can expect from Abi as she spirals out of control.
“It’s ridiculous and outrageous and so much fun to film,” Sally said.
“I was pinching myself doing all the stunts. There’s nothing that she’s not capable of doing so watch out.”
Sally, who is engaged to her co-star Joe Duttine, later revealed that the outcome of the trial will leave Abi’s relationship with Kevin in tatters.
She said: “Abi leaves Kevin because she just can’t let go what’s happened. She’s not quite sure what she’s going to do but she knows whatever she does do she can’t involved Kevin and Jack.
“Abi loves the pair of them, which is the reason why she has to leave them. She needs to have a think about how she can solve the injustice of what’s happened.
“They love each other and I’d love to see a wedding for Kevin and Abi.”
Corrie fans will be introduced to Seb’s father in the next few weeks, who will be played by former EastEnders actor Stephen Lord.
Teasing what’s in store for Abi as she plans her revenge, Sally added: “I can’t say too much what happens next but it’s life-changing.
“Someone from her past is going to be involved. She turns to someone else that’s not Kevin.
“Seb’s dad has contacts in dark places and can help her for what she needs.”
Coronation Street continues Monday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm
