Coronation Street fans in tears as Sam delivers emotional speech to dead mum

Coronation Street fans have been left in tears after young Sam delivered a moving speech to his dead mum Natasha.

On Monday night, Natasha Gaskell (Rachel Leskovac) died after doctors failed to stop internal bleeding after she’d been shot.

In the latest double-bill, Sam (Jude Riordan) told dad Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that he wanted to go and see his mum at the undertakers.

After Nick finally agreed to take him, Sam read his mum an emotional speech, in which he worried that she didn’t know he had loved her.

Viewers were left heartbroken after the reading, with one person tweeting: “Jesus just watched young Sam’s speech in Corrie and just broke me. What a talented young actor.”

Another said: “Sam! I am heartbroken.”

A third wrote: “Aww that was heartbreaking and I don’t get teary eyed that easily. Sam you’re pulling my heartstrings.”

Someone else said: “OMG Sam’s speech, literally just burst into tears. Jude Riordan yet again proving what an incredible little star he really is. Rachel Leskovac should be well proud of her onscreen son seriously. Totally stole the show tonight.”

And a fifth added: “Blubbering at Sam’s speech to his mum. Always tell the people you love how you feel about them.”

Even Rachel Leskovac who had played Natasha chimed in, admitting she was feeling emotional too.

“In floods – take it from me… she knew,” Rachel posted.

Last week, during the seriously dramatic episodes, Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) shot Natasha in a case of mistaken identity.

After escaping from prison, he returned to the street to go after Leanne Tilsley (Jane Danson).

He went to the flat and shot Natasha, thinking she was Leanne.

Natasha was eventually rushed to hospital when she was found, and it seemed as though she was on the mend, albeit suffering with internal bleeding.

She went in for an operation during Monday night’s double-bill but doctors were unable to save her.

They broke the news to a devastated Sam, who has been struggling with what to do with himself since then.

Jude, who plays Sam, has been impressing viewers since he joined the soap.

So much so that he won a National Television Award earlier this year for his performance.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
