Coronation Street fans were in a complimentary mood on Wednesday evening, as they were quick to notice Roy Cropper’s new hair cut which some believed “took years off” of him.
Roy was seen rocking a much shorter look as he had clearly paid a visit to the barbers, sending viewers wild with his new look.
Taking to Twitter to air their opinions, viewer couldn’t wait to shout about Roy’s new hair do, while others questioned where he had his hair done.
One fan penned: “Ah Roy. The hair cut is great”
While another said: “Loving the haircut Roy!! It’s taken years off you.”
A third questioned: “Has Roy had his locks cut. I wonder where he got that done?”
While another eagle-eyed fan penned: “The whole village has had a hair cut it seems #CoronationStreet.”
Roy Cropper played by actor David Neilson has been going through a turbulent time on the street over the last few weeks.
Though he has continued to work in the café as normal, Roy is still feeling the ramifications from his niece’s terrible attack that took place a few weeks ago.
After his niece Nina was involved in a vicious hate crime which left her boyfriend Seb dead, Roy has been understandably concerned for his niece’s welfare.
Roy has been apprehensive that Nina would loose her spark after the assault and become bland like he is.
Talking to press recently about Nina’s character, actor David said: “He feels terrible that she’s going to become more like him, become beige. And she’s conforming.
“I think the thing is with Roy he avoids the crowds and Nina is not part of the crowd and suddenly she wants to dress to be invisible and to be part of the crowd and he can see that’s damaging to her individuality.”
David also expressed that he feels actress Mollie Gallagher has done a sterling job playing the role of Nina on the cobbles.
The actor said: “I was thinking ‘I wonder how this is going to be’ and she is just phenomenal. I mean, she’s really doing it properly.”
