Corrie's Sally Carman doesn't want to work with co-star fiancé Joe Duttine on soap

Coronation Street actress Sally Carman has revealed that she doesn’t want to work with her co-star lover Joe Duttine ever again.

The Abi Franklin actress got engaged to her Corrie co-star Joe last year, who plays Tim Metcalfe in the northern soap, but explained she doesn’t want to work with him onscreen anymore than she does now.

In an exclusive chat with the Daily Star, Sally said: “I don’t work with him that much and I really don’t want to work with him.

“It’s because he makes me laugh it’s horrendous.

“He’s the funniest man I’ve ever met, to the point where I get sweaty and everyone’s like ‘ugh, can you just get on with it?’

When she was quizzed whether she would love more scenes with her partner she shut the idea down completely.

Sally joked: “No! I never want to work with him ever again. I just can’t do it!”

During their acting careers, the pair must have come up with awkward situations where they are in onscreen relationships with other characters, but Sally said this doesn’t phase her at all.

She continued: “When you’re an actor, it’s the most unsexy environment you could imagine. It’s like cutting potatoes to make chips and not cooking them and eating them – that’s how unsexy it is.”

The 40-year-old actress first met Joe, 51, on the hit ITV soap and began dating back in 2018.

The Corrie couple have since got engaged and planned a wedding for this year but decided to move it back because of strict Covid rules.

Sally explained: “We are getting married next year – we were meant to be getting married this year but cos of Covid we delayed it.

The pair should expect a load of famous faces to turn up on their big day as Sally said “of course the people from Corrie are invited – I’ve got so many friends on set.”

She also spilled the beans on what fans can expect from the soap in the future after it won the award for Best Serial Drama at the National Television Awards.

Sally said: “There’s a lot of beans coming up, some beans that could be something you’ve never seen before from Coronation Street, that could rival the tram crash.

“It’s amazing you’re going to have your socks blown off and your hair blown off.”
