Rachel Riley has opened up about the moment she was groped by an adoring fan backstage on the Channel 4 daytime show.
The Countdown star claimed she was sexually assaulted by a male fan after his wife introduced the pair, with the couple later banned from the show for the disgusting interaction.
She recalled the horrible moment in a recent interview with The Sun in which the 35-year-old confessed “you get the odd a**e grabber” when working on a show with a live studio audience.
Alongside Countdown, the blonde bombshell also co-hosts the late-night comedy version of the show with the cast from 8 Out Of 10 Cats hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr.
Expectant mother Rachel told the publication: “The married couple came up to me and the lady said, ‘Oh my husband really likes watching you, do you mind if we just…’ and he squeezed my a**e.
“I didn’t know what to do with myself. I was a bit shocked and stood back and they didn’t get invited back to the audience.”
The young mum is currently waiting for the arrival of her second child with her former Strictly Come Dancing professional husband Pasha Kovalev, 41.
The Essex native has been a permanent fixture on the quiz show since she replaced Carol Vorderman in 2008, but it’s not just her impressive maths skills that grab the viewers’ attention as her fashion skills are regularly discussed online.
But when the star announced she was with child, she noticed a definite shift in the wardrobe department as bosses tried to dress her like her “own mother”.
Speaking to Channel 4 show Complaints Welcome, she explained: “I had to buy some new clothes at one stage.
“I just didn’t know what to wear and they were trying to dress me more like my mother at that stage, everything had to be below the knee.”
It comes after the Countdown beauty warned her friends not to go on Strictly because it can “mess with your head”.
The maths wiz went on the BBC One ballroom contest in 2013, where she was paired with her now husband Pasha Kovalev.
But in a recent interview with The Times, she confessed that there isn’t enough awareness of how being a contestant can have an impact on your mental health.
She talked about how stars have to be really strong to cope with being judged week in week out.
