'Covidiot' Laurence Fox blasted as he proudly flashes mask exemption badge

Luvvie Laurence Fox has been accused of putting lives at risk with his latest anti-mask antics.

The Lewis actor seemed to mock rules designed to slow the spread of Covid by showing off snaps of a mask “exemption” badge he ordered online.

Fox, 42, posted a photo wearing a green lanyard from Amazon that reads: “I am exempt from wearing a face covering.”

TV doctor Ranj Singh slammed his actions, saying: “Face coverings are extremely important. There are people who genuinely cannot wear them for medical and psychological reasons.”

Tory MP Simon Hoare branded the star a “nuclear-powered p****”, prompting Fox to hit back: “You have never met me. You have no looking glass into my lived experience.”

Legitimate badges are used by people with a disability that means they cannot wear a face covering.

Fox has said he has suffered anxiety attacks in the past but has often hit out at the rules on wearing masks. Last month he tweeted: “Take off your masks. Gather in groups, love, hug and toast each other this Christmas.”

He wrote alongside it: “After a long period of consultation with myself, an extended review period and a proper due diligence conducted with myself, I’ve received the badge that I ordered from Amazon. Thank you for being there for me.”

The divisive figure added the hashtag “anxiety”.

The tweet, which has so far had more than 3,500 retweets, 6,000 likes and 8,000 comments was not received well by many.

One Twitter user asked after his latest stunt: “What’s your excuse for putting me at risk?”

A second said: “Oh, so Amazon now do GP consultations do they? Your behaviour is disgraceful and an insult to all who have died and all who suffer now with Covid-19.”

Another added: “I had to report his tweet. He’s basically endangering lives and encouraging people to circumvent guidelines. It’s dangerous.”

A third tweeted: “How will you ever manage with an oxygen mask? Or will you refuse one of those too?”

Someone else told him: “Not sure at all why you’re taking stance Laurence but I think it’s disappoint. Let’s all get with the programme and not undermine the best efforts of the government’s and our people for doing the right thing. Try sending the right message out.”

Naturally, Laurence has continued on his crusade since his offending tweet and photo.

He said: “It’s really quite simple. We don’t have to agree on everything all the time, and our views are all valid. Surprisingly enough, shouting ‘You’re a massive c**t’ repeatedly at someone doesn’t bring them towards your position, it just makes them think that you are a massive c**t.”
