Dame Judi Dench, 86, admits she enjoys swimming completely naked in her pool

Swimming completely naked isn’t an act suited for everyone, but Bond actress Dame Judi Dench has described skinny dipping as “just heaven”.

The acting legend, who is a star of both stage and screen, admits to enjoying swimming naked alone in her pool, but fears being caught in the act.

Speaking candidly to Dame Esther Rantzen on her podcast That’s After Life!, the pair openly discussed nudity.

Dame Esther admitted to running around naked in her garden for her birthday.

Judi, 86, replied: “Well I do know the feeling of taking all your clothes off is just heaven isn’t it?”

The actress also confessed to the joys of filming nude, she continued: “I had to do it in a film, Langrishe, Go Down, in a passionate scene with Jeremy Irons where she puts cream on her nipples and he licks it off.

“And after we did the scene, we came out and it was teatime and the caterers had made meringues!

“That was very, very nice for us.”

In regards to skinny dipping, the acting legend explained: “Swimming naked is very good.

“I do that because we are lucky as we have a pool and you can quite happily do it sometimes if somebody isn’t going to come around suddenly. I don’t want to be caught at it.”

Judi also spoke openly about the latest Bond movies on the podcast and said she feels Daniel Craig’s version of James Bond was gloomy in comparison to previous movies.

When talking about the lack of humour in the latest 007 films, Judi said: “The script isn’t so funny, I know, I agree.”

The award-winning actress starred in eight Bond films playing the character M, but her role was sadly killed off in Skyfall in 2012.

The star appeared in Bond for the last time in 2012

In the interview, Judi mentioned feeling emotional filming her final Bond movie.

However, her emotions didn’t derive from missing her castmates, the crew or the fact that she wouldn’t be a part of the filming process again.

The star said: “I cried because we were told we were going to Scotland for three weeks.

“We went one morning, we filmed, and we were back on the 7.30 plane that night,” she explained.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming for the latest Bond film, No Time To Die, has been frequently delayed.

For now, the 2021 movie will hopefully be released on September 30.
