BBC Breakfast revealed a major format change as Dan Walker was missing from the show.
The BBC presenter normally hosts the morning programme from Monday to Wednesday each week, and Charlie Stayt presents the show on Thursdays and Fridays alongside Naga Munchetty.
However, Dan was nowhere to be seen on the red sofa when the show kicked off on Wednesday (December 8).
Viewers were in for a change this week as it was presenter Jon Kay who stepped in to replace Strictly star Dan alongside Sally Nugent.
Jon sometimes hosts the show next to Sally or Naga when the main presenters aren’t available.
At the time of writing, Dan hadn’t told fans why he was missing from the show, with no updates on his social media accounts such as Twitter, so the reason for his absence is currently unknown.
Some viewers had been left confused at the change, with one writing on Twitter: “Where’s Dan today? He’s not dancing anymore”.
It wasn’t the only change that Breakfast dealt with either, because Jon and Sally revealed that an MP had turned down their interview offer – following Boris’ ongoing Christmas Party scandal.
The show usually hosts a minister on the programme at 7.30 each day, but nobody had been made available.
It comes just after Dan revealed that he won’t be taking part in the live Strictly Come Dancing tour – which will kick off in Birmingham on January 20 next year.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Dan wrote: “I can’t wait to take my family to watch the #Strictly tour this year but I sadly won’t be part of it.
“I have too many work commitments and I want to be at home after spending so much longer on the actual show than I ever expected.
“I’m sure it’ll be amazing – as usual.”
Walker recently became the latest star to leave Strictly Come Dancing – as he was eliminated from the show with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova on Sunday (December 5).
Dan also exposed the cruel comments he’s been receiving from trolls, and he recently wrote on Instagram: “To the angry mob who shouted, insulted and moaned each week… please think about your words.
“I can thankfully cope with it, but others can’t, and some of it is cruel, unkind and unnecessary.”
