A Place In The Sun’s Danni Menzies has taken to Instagram to address the comments made about her outfit choice on the show which led to one fan calling her a ‘hooker’.
She shared the criticism on her Instagram story after a Twitter user named Lucy scorned her style: “Danni is a good presenter but why does she dress like a hooker? Totally bare chest, skirts always just below her a**e… Why?”
33-year-old Danni hit back at Lucy as she refused to hold back with her savage swipe.
She posted a set of photos in a bright yellow suit that covered almost her whole body and asked her fans what they thought Lucy would make of her ensemble.
Danni wrote: “What a glorious week so far! [Portugal] has blessed us with glorious weather and I’ve finally managed to get my French Connection yellow suit on! Do we think Lucy would approve of this one, just my ankles on show.”
One of her 83,500 followers joined in on the sarcasm: “Sleeve rolled up showing a forearm? *clutches pearls*”.
Another fan left some words of support: “Beautiful, don’t listen to that Lucy”, while another wrote: “Forget about her. Get the mini skirts on again”, with a third adding: “Lucy’s just jealous, that’s all”.
Elsewhere, another fan said: “Unusual colour but looks good. You dress like most girls your age in a hot climate but even smarter, nothing wrong with your outfits. Ignore Lucy, don’t let that sort hurt you.”
Recently Danni revealed that she thought she would be fired from the Channel 4 property show after her first appearance due to a low self esteem.
She admitted she had dealt with personal struggles before becoming a household name and has worked through self-esteem issues and anxiety throughout her life.
She had convinced herself that she wasn’t going to be invited back for a second taping because she was no good: “When I first started, I was so filled with anxiety, and just had no self-worth. I was fooling myself,” Danni revealed.
“I was faking it. The whole thing. I was like, ‘You’re confident, you can do this.’ And that’s kind of what I did my whole life after being depressed. I was just like, ‘Pretend you’re someone else. Fake it. The more you pretend it, eventually that’ll actually be how you feel.’”
