Dawn French looked almost unrecognisable as she ditched her signature raven bob for a short grey pixie cut.
The 63-year-old star looked a far cry away from her iconic onscreen Vicar of Dibley character when she debuted her new look on Instagram on Monday as she embraced her natural salt and pepper hair.
She first flaunted her lighter hair, which she styled with a shorter cropped bob, back in June and fans couldn’t believe how much it suited her.
The comedian took the plunge and chopped off the last of her long locks and opted for an edgy pixie cut as her husband Mark Bignell compared her new look to that of quizhead and The Chase star Anne Hegerty.

Dawn took to the popular social media platform on Monday to share her new tresses with a duo of snaps online.
The TV star penned: “Hair update. 3 shades of grey (working up to the 50).
“I’ve chopped even more off. I’m thinking I’m giving it solid Jamie Lee Curtis. Husband says I’m giving it full Anne Hegerty … Righto.
Unphased by the backhanded compliment, Dawn confidently noted that both TV stars are beautiful as she defined them as Ishtar, meaning Babylonian and Assyrian goddesses of war and love.
She quipped: “In your face husband, coz BOTH are Ishtar …”

And fans soon flooded her comments section with a wave of complimentary comments as she shared how women can embrace grey hair with style as she rocked her new do.
One fan wrote: “Oh yes Dawn. So Devil wears Prada. I bloody love it.x”
Another added: “Love thiiiiiiis I love that you’re embracing the grey! It looks so chic on you.”
A third agreed: “Looking great Dawn xxx,” as another gushed: “Go for it!! You look amazing. love these glasses too. X.”

Back in June, Dawn flaunted the initial stages of phasing out her classic brunette bob, as she revealed her natural hair colour without the enhancements of hair dye.
But what shocked her loyal legion of fans the most was when she exposed her brilliantly bright silver hair from her stylish undercut.
She captioned the latest update on her hair journey: “Going lighter bit by bit to happily welcome the grey … with an undercut surprise …! Hello there woman in her 60s …”
