Dermot O’Leary was left gobsmacked on This Morning when a guest claimed she has a boyfriend who is a ghost.
Dermot and his co-host Alison Hammond welcomed a woman named Brocarde into the ITV studio on Tuesday (19 October).
Brocarde told the presenters all about her strange paranormal experience which led to her having a relationship with a ghost called Eduardo, who she claims is a “Victorian soldier”.
However, Dermot was seemingly left speechless during the supernatural segment as Brocarde dished on her alleged ghostly romance.
Telling Dermot and Alison how her love affair began, Brocarde said: “I can totally understand how people are sceptical. It was a really strange day, a typical horror movie day.
“I was at home, I’d had one of those horrible days myself, I’d fallen out with one of my friends.
“I was tossing and turning in bed and I literally just felt this burning sensation in my heart out of nowhere.”
She then went on to explain that the burning sensation in her chest had left her struggling to breathe.
She continued: “Not a pain, it was physical burning and a deep sensation in my chest. It was alarming at the beginning, it was really intense and I was struggling to breath.
“And then I was propelled forward, I was rigid. I was shaking and in tears and then literally nothing, I went cold.
“I reached over to my bed side table to try and turn the light on and this hand grabbed my arm and threw it back.”
Dermot appeared rather confused as she told her story, whilst Alison gasped in shock at the frightening story.
Brocarde said that she thought someone was in her house and began crying.
Dermot asked Brocarde when she first met the ghost, Eduardo.
She answered: “I saw a figure just pass and then nothing.”
However, she admitted that the ghost seems to get jealous and even draws love hearts for her.
Brocarde added that he appears when she is in the shower.
Dermot was keen to ask Brocarde if she was in an an exclusive relationship with the ghost, but couldn’t get his words out and said: “Sorry, I’ve gone blank.”
If Dermot was sceptical at his guest’s ghostly love story, he wasn’t alone because fans on Twitter weren’t convinced her tale was true.
One wrote: “How did Dermot and Alison keep a straight face interviewing this woman who’s in a relationship with a ghost?”
A second penned: “An uncomfortable watch. She needs help.”
A third commented: “Dermot taking the p*** out of the lady who is in love with a ghost.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
