Dog the Bounty Hunter surrenders 'evidence' to FBI amid search for Brian Laundrie

Dog the Bounty Hunter claims he has given evidence to the FBI that could be examined for the DNA of Brian Laundrie.

Laundrie is currently wanted by the FBI who have issued a warrant for his arrest following the homicide of his girlfriend, Gabby Petito, whose body was discovered on September 19.

He returned to Florida on his own just two days before Gabby’s body was discovered but he has since been reported missing by his distressed parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie.

Now just days after vowing to find the suspect, Dog claims to have discovered evidence and has “leads” on Laundrie’s current location.

Speaking to Fox & Friends, Dog, 68, revealed that he had handed over items discovered at Fort Soto Park where Brian is believed to have stayed with his family.

He said: “Friday, we found a makeshift, a very primitive camp that had some promising things around it so we’ve gathered up all those things with gloves and baggies and turned them over yesterday to the FBI.”

Discussing potential leads on the whereabouts of Brian, he explained: “We’ve got tips from here to Tennessee and beyond so we are going over those tips today.”

Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman said “the team is now assessing evidence and evaluating next steps,” after confirming that an off-duty police officer has been working with him.

It’s believed that former Navy SEALS and Marines are also assisting in Dog’s search that he has vowed not to give up on.

It comes as a hiker in the Appalachian Trial area of North Carolina believes they encountered Laundrie on Saturday morning while he was allegedly hitchhiking.

Laundrie is wanted by the FBI on suspicion of bank fraud after allegedly using someone else’s bank card around the time of Gabby’s death.

He is also one of the main suspects in her disappearance and death according to US law enforcement agencies.

Gabby and Laundrie had been on a cross-country trip across America but her body was tragically discovered in Wyoming, with Laundrie returning to his parents in Florida alone.

Just two days later, his parents reported him missing.

Following speculation that his parents know his location and are hiding it from cops, a spokesperson said: “Chris and Roberta Laundrie do not know where Brian is.

“They are concerned about Brian and hope the FBI can locate him.

“The speculation by the public and some in the press that the parents assisted Brian in leaving the family home or in avoiding arrest on a warrant that was issued after Brian had already been missing for several days is just wrong.”
