Dragons' Den star takes brutal swipe at Piers Morgan's 'ego' in unearthed tweet

Dragons’ Den’s Deborah Meaden previously took a cheeky swipe at presenter Piers Morgan after he savagely branded Meghan Markle an “ego-crazed leech” back in 2020.

Deborah, 62, is often very outspoken with her views and didn’t hold back the punches regarding the former GMB presenter’s remarks on ‘Megixt’.

It appears as though Deborah did jump to Meghan’s defence at the time of the event.

Back in 2020, while Piers was still a presenter on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the straight-talking presenter was very honest regarding his views on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from their Royal duties.

After Piers had described Meghan as an “ego-crazed leech,” Deborah did not hold back her thoughts and took to Twitter to share her take.

The entrepreneur wrote: “OK let’s test. If I said ‘ego crazed leech’… who would you think of first? Megan Markle or Piers Morgan?”

Deborah accumulated over 46,000 likes for her comment and many fans agreed with her statement at the time of writing.

One supporter penned: “Piers is literally the definition of that sentence.”

Another fan commented: “Deborah I really want someone influential like yourself to start a hashtag campaign or something in support of Harry and Meghan that people can get behind and show their support.”

However, other Twitter users seemed to back Piers’ savage comment and agreed with his remarks.

It’s also not the first time that Dragons’ Den star Deborah has made comments on Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex.

In 2018, the business mogul also responded to a tweet posted by Good Morning Britain.

The tweet said: “Find out who did and didn’t get an invite…”

Deborah jokingly responded: “I didn’t”.

Since leaving his position on GMB last month, Piers still has quite a lot to say regarding the Meghan and Harry interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In his latest column for MailOnline Piers wrote: “Oprah Winfrey barely challenged a word her two friends said, leaving Americans and the woefully gullible US media to assume every sensational bombshell of self-serving tittle-tattle was fact when much of it wasn’t.”

Deborah is currently appearing in the new series of Dragons’ Den which aired on BBC One on Thursday evening.

In this season of Dragons’ Den, a feud seems to have emerged between Deborah and her co-star rival Sara Davies.

Speaking about the incident in an interview with Metro, Sara explained that everything was going smoothly until they went into the studio to start filming, then it suddenly became “dog eat dog”.

Sara said she disapproved of one of Deborah’s investment choices because it was for “a business that’s in my space.”

The investment rival said it was “a business idea that I poo-pooed a little bit” and there was “more than a little bit of awkwardness” after her comments that she made to Deborah.
